The physical-numerical model

The subsequent step involved the simulation by means of a physical-numerical model which takes into consideration the periods of volcanic unrest which recently affected the caldera of Campi Flegrei. Simulation results and some independent considerations (i.e. the high correlation between geophysical and geochemical monitoring data) suggest that contrary to the traditional interpretation, recent bradyseismic crises at Campi Flegrei have been driven by periods of intense magmatic degassing.

Methodologies

Several methodologies are applied in a completely new way to achieve the necessary results.
