Monitoring of the Hydrothermal System of Solfatara Volcano
Physical-numerical modeling The physical-numerical modelThe subsequent step involved the simulation by means of a physical-numerical model which takes into consideration the periods of volcanic unrest which recently affected the caldera of Campi Flegrei. Simulation results and some independent considerations (i.e. the high correlation between geophysical and geochemical monitoring data) suggest that contrary to the traditional interpretation, recent bradyseismic crises at Campi Flegrei have been driven by periods of intense magmatic degassing.
